what is clear and coloured hockey tape for? whats the difference? and where am I supposed to put it? explain!~
Im not sure why there is coloured, and why there is clear? I was given both when I bought my sons equiptment. how m I supposed to use this stuff? I dont want my son to look stupid, he is only 6.
The clear tape is used almost exclusively to anchor the shin pads in place. It provides a bit more "stretch" than the cloth tape does and doesn't leave any colored residue. The cloth tape is pretty much all-purpose. It is used on sticks blades or knobs, shin pads, around the ankles and anywhere else tape is needed. There is also friction tape, which is tacky on both sides which is used primarily on stick blades. The tackiness on the outside provides a little better feel for the puck for some players.
