Need some suggestions for mid-range ice hockey shin guards for a defenseman?
I'm a low level adult recreational player, currently using CCM Vector V06 shin guards. I tend to take a lot of shots off the sides of my legs (particularly the inside of my lead leg) while keeping the puck carrier outside. The V06's only have a thin cloth padding wing and the pucks tend to either hit the wing or the unprotected area below it. I don't want to break the bank, but I'm looking for something that will last a while and add a little bit more protection.

Check out that link as they have images of the back/side protection. If I were you I'd go with something along the lines of Easton S13 shin pads for $70. Yeah, that's a little pricey, but you have to weigh getting hurt v. paying a good price for protection.
