How to keep insulin cool without ice or water (if it's possible?)?
I'm going on a school trip to 6 flags that lasts the whole day so of course i would have to bring along insulin. But from previous experiences, insulin in a bag full of ice is not the best idea. I have one of those cooling refrigerators that i can put ice in and keep it cool but it's chunky and I hate to think that's my only option. I've heard of the FRIO and my parents are super paranoid about paying with credit card because they think people can get their info blah blah blah. so it would have to be something that I can get in person. my mom's says there's this cloth thing that you put over anything that needs to stay cool and it lasts up to 2 days but she doesn't know what it's called in english only in chinese. so thanks for any suggestions, nothing stupid please.
As long as the temperatures are not over 85F your insulin should be fine in your handbag or purse. Most of my male friends carry their insulin in jacket pockets. I carry mine in the inner pocket of my bag which goes over my head and around my chest. You can also keep it in one of those belt pouches.
I cannot think of a 6 Flags location that will be that hot this time of year. However if you wish you can freeze a half bottle of water, then fill the rest of the way up and have your bottle of cold water with you also.
I don't blame your parents about being paranoid about credit cards on the internet. I use a prepaid card when I have to order something, not my credit cards or my debit card. Those can be gotten most places and in the amounts you need to spend to get stuff on the internet. They are put out by the major card companies so they have all the official stuff on them that is required.
