what kind of wheels/bearings should i get for my roller hockey blades?
I own a pair of Mission Axiom A.3 roller hockey blades and it says on their website that all the wheels are MISSION CSX indoor/outdoor 78A but when i look at the wheels on the skates, they say they are all different sizes, unfortunately i am not at home so i can not tell you which sizes they are.
The mission website also says that the bearings are MISSION ABEC 5 but i don't see any websites that sell those bearings so what other kind is the best and fastest kinds of bearings to buy?
I just started getting into roller blading/roller hockey im not really playing roller hockey but i go skating a lot and like to go really fast so i don't really know a whole lot about skates but would like to learn what kind of wheels/bearings i should buy, thanks for any help.
I'm looking for indoor wheels, as the skates came with outdoor wheels and i use them inside so i slide around a LOT i cant hockey stop or anything because there isnt any grip.
As with all companies, they recommend that you buy parts from them even if they aren't the best.
You can use any bearings that are the same size. Most wheels use "standard" 608 series bearings, some hockey wheels use 688 series bearings that are called mini or micro.
There really isn't a lot of difference between bearings compared to the difference in wheels.
If you want to do both indoor and outdoor hockey, I recommend that you buy a set of indoor wheels with bearings and bearing spacers (they are inside the wheel, between the bearings) so that you can swap the wheels more easily.
I can't help you with the wheels, since I don't do indoor hockey. Ask some of the local players what they use, if they like them, and why. The why is important because it will let you know if the person has a reason or just is tied to having a cool brand.
If you can't ask locally, ask at one of the reputable stores that have knowledgeable people. I have dealt with www.inlinewarehouse.com and www.skates.com and found the people at their customer service desks to be good.
