I'm assuming this is related to kinetic energy; the formula for which is
KE=1/2mv^2
I'm also assuming that the rest of the question reads "speed does the goalie get moved by the puck?"
First, find the kinetic energy of the puck:
=0.5*(0.105)*(26)^2 = 35.49
35.49 (I think the correct units for this is Joules but I'm not sure)
So if the puck has a 35.49 Joules of energy; then the goalie has to exert the same force to stop it. Since force is composed of a mass and a velocity, we can use the known values to find the unknown velocity.
Again, use KE=0.5mv^2 but this time, we know the energy and the mass but not the velocity. So it looks like this:
35.49 Joules = 0.5 (75) (v)^2
Solve for v
v = 0.97 m/s
