what breed should I look into?
Ok I am interested in gettin a dog ( possibly a puppy) as a family pet. I am looking for a breed that is known to be good with children and other animals since we have a 5 year old and a baby on the way as well as we already have a young male cat. I'd prefer a decent watchdog/protector type. Also looking for something in the medium size range, preferably short hair as well. Any suggestions?
Wait until you have no babies in diapers for a puppy.
Then be very careful to research any breed and choose one based on your real lifestyle and not how cute they are.
I am potty training my son and refuse to get a puppy until he is truly trained so that I have the time to train a puppy.
