Do you have any tips for middle school (7th grade)?
I'm going into 7th grade and I'm extremely nervous. New atmosphere, new people, new classes, new EVERYTHING. I'm not the most organized person and I'm worried that I took to many classes. They don't give us any information until the end of summer.
For my classes i'm taking wood shop, facts which is cooking and sewing, and Spanish. For music I'm also taking concert band and jazz band. I have to take concert band to be in jazz band. School starts 70 minutes earlier than my elementary school and I'm not a morning person.
Also I need help on being organized. Lately I've been on a cleaning kick but they're very rare. So far I have several magnets to hang stuff, a locker organizer but it hangs on the sides and has pockets, and also a mini whiteboard but no markers.
If you have any tips, warnings, or ideas please respond.
I remember when i went into 7th grade. one thing about your electives is that they will brake them down for you, you have to take core classes and the electives will be spread out, you might have wood shop monday and band tuesday so it isnt to smooshed. Also you probably have 7 to 8 periods in school a day so they aren't going to pack in too much. 4 out of those will be math, english. science, and social studies, one will be spanish and 2 or 3 will be electives. Not too hard. Foor the early morning thing. i suggest getting to bed earlyish and waking up early in the morning and just stretch (cheesy but it wakes you up)
To keep organized bring a notebook on the first day to take notes of what you need to get *if the teachers don't give you a printed list* and bring a pencil/pen because up might need to fill stuff out. DON'T BUY SUPPLIES UNTIL maybe the 3rd or 4th day of school or until you have a list of what you need to every class!!! Don't make it trouble by taking frequent trips to the nearest Staples. If the school doesn't provide you with an Agenda for Homework go to staples and buy one, it will help you stay organized with homework so you don't forget.
I do suggest buying a 8 pocket accordain folder to keep all your homework papers organized by class <--- that totally saved me! With the white board, get dry erase markers and write important test and quiz dated on it. Don't let papers flow lose in your locker or folders.
Don't let the older kids get to you, stay yourself, and don't change, stay the way you are.
