How to shoot while skating?
Hey guys, I'm going to play hockey for the 1st time ever in the spring. I'm 13, 6'2, and in 1st year bantam. I can skate very well, even though I've only been skating for 3 weeks. I can do crossovers perfectly, and can gain a lot of speed with my USED CCM PRO TACKS. I was thinking about getting some new skates. Like the Easton S1 or some other skates. Anyways, thats not the question. I have problems when shooting while skating. Whenever I take a wrist shot, it either slides across the ice, or if it gets in the air, it flutters. Is there any tips or videos I can get to assist me? Can I practice this at home somehow? I really want to start now, so that I will be good in the Spring.
Thanks Guys, Merry Christmas!
BQ: Don't you think that hockey, or the NHL is the most diverse sports franchise in North America, out of the four major ones? (NHL, NBA, MLB,NFL)
BQ Again: What was your first time playing organized hockey like?
I'm a goalie so I can't really tell you on that one but maybe these link can help you.

You can practise it at home depending on the weather where you live, with rollerblades in your driveway or any other surface (tennis court, school yard) or if it's snowing probably not unless you have a backyard rink if not you'll have to go to an outdoor rink (visit your neighbourhood's website to find which ones are near you and available) or during pick up/shinny hockey at your local arena ( http://www.rinktime.com ). By that time, where I live, all rinks are open. The ice isn't quite smooth but it's decent to play on. If possible work with a partner, you'll learn synchronicity shooting on a pass,, if you doN't have one puck-handle and shoot when you're approaching the net.
BQ2: Pretty tough actually. I've been used to play one on one and with a few people, so my first time in net during a game was awful, I got scored on like about 10 times lol.
