Reptile for beginners?
hi all im just trying to found out what is the best reptile that suits for a beginner?
my options is :
1. bearded dragon
2.green iguana
3.Blue tongue skink
4.savannah monitor
which one do u guys think is the best for the beginners? (i've had Blue Tongue once for 2 years so i kinda knows the basic) i kinda like green iguana or beardie the best, can someone tell me how to care for a green iguana/ beardie? (like the lightning, heat pads and stuff) or how big a bearded dragon can be?? thx.
Green Iguana and Savannah Monitors are definitely not beginner reptiles. They are very cool looking but very hard to tame and some develop nasty attitudes no matter how much handling is done.
The Skink and Bearded Dragon are both super easy to tame and care for.
http://www.beardeddragon.org is a great place to research bearded dragons.
I haven't had an iguana in quite some time so I can't really remember everything required.
Bearded Dragons can reach up to 2ft in length. Most say a 40 gallon breeder tank is adequate for an adult but I say go as big as you can. My beardies have been much happier in their larger enclosures.
